Sonic Clarity in an Ultra-Compact Subwoofer

SKOKIE, IL, May 20, 2002 --- MacPherson, Inc., manufacturers of high-performance professional loudspeaker systems, is now shipping the KS115 Subwoofer.

Following on the critically acclaimed launch of the SCHOLAR 118 Subwoofer, the KS115 offers a high level of bass articulation and musicality in a smaller cabinet.

The KS115 uses a highly sophisticated 15-inch woofer. Every aspect of this 1000-watt woofer has been optimized for sonic quality, high SPL output, and long life. An innovative voice-coil and magnet design virtually eliminates the over-excursion and power compression problems often seen in other subwoofers. And like the SCHOLAR 118, extensive electronic manipulation is not necessary to achieve optimal reproduction. All that's needed are the standard high-pass and low-pass functions provided by an electronic crossover.

Maximum Performance/Minimum Space

Sonically, the KS115 delivers outstanding performance, whether used singly or in horizontal or vertical arrays. Space-friendly, its ultra-compact, low profile design makes the KS115 perfect for a wide variety of fixed or portable applications. With an overall height of less than 18 inches, cabinets can easily be used under portable staging or integrated into architectural designs, theatrical sets, and trade show exhibits.

User-Friendly—Installed or On the Road

Weighing less than 73 pounds each, the cabinets are easy to transport and maneuver. Crews will love the ease of handling. They'll also appreciate the well thought out design that incorporates built-in thermoplastic skid rails. The skid rails serve an important physical as well as acoustic function, protecting the cabinet's finish and also providing a high-impedance interface between each cabinet and adjacent surfaces. This works to maintain the energy within the KS115's enclosure, helping to preserve the integrity of the reproduced signal.
